New Turkish government to continue previous policy

Today Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan approved the government proposed by Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu. It consists only of deputies from the ruling AKP party.

The deputy prime ministers became Tyurkesh Yıldırım, Mehmet Simsek, Yalcin Akdogan, Numan Kurtulmush, Lutfi ElvanMevlut Cavusoglu was appointed Foreign Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs became Efka AlaIsmet Yilmaz was appointed Defense Minister, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources became Berat Albayrak, and Secretary of the Treasury became Naji Agba, RIA Novosti reports.

The cabinet must be approved by the parliament in order for the government to be able to start its work. The Prime Minister is to present the program of the cabinet in the next few days and the parliament is to hold a vote of confidence in the new government.

Taking into account the new membership of the government, it can be assumed that the internal and foreign policy of Turkey is unlikely to change in comparison with the period before the summer parliamentary elections in the country, Associate Professor of the School of International Relations at the University of Economics and Technology TOBB (Ankara), political scientist Togrul Ismail said in an interview with a correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza.

He explained that the approved candidates are the result of a consensus between Erdogan and Davutoglu. "We can say that the President achieved his goal. In tandem they will continue this tradition from the time when Erdogan was Prime Minister," the analyst said.

In particular, now the President can realize the transition from a parliamentary to a presidential form of government without any hindrances, the expert said. "This desire has always existed, but time will tell if is possible to implement it," the analyst said.

Political analyst Dosan Tanzhu said that the new government consists of real professionals and experts in their field. He pointed out Interior Minister Alu Efka and Minister of Justice Bekir Bozdag, who are the most trusted people of Erdogan. According to the analyst's opinion, they will strengthen his power.

"I think that the new government was formed on the basis of Erdogan's desires, and if you look at the list of ministers it will become clear that he chose the closest and most trusted people,'' Dosan said.

The expert pointed out that the new government consists of new politicians and experienced government figures, who have been in the party since the beginning of its creation. For example, Deputy Prime Minister Yildirim Tyurkesh and Energy Minister Berat Albayrak, who received good experience in this field.
