New gas deposit in Sea of Okhotsk discovered

Russian gas giant Gazprom said on Thursday it had discovered a new gas deposit during geological exploration works at the Kirinskoye field in the Sea of Okhotsk as part of its Sakhalin 3 project, Reuters reports.

"In the course of exploration work at the Kirinskoye field prospecting site of the Sakhalin-3 project area in the Sea of Okhotsk, significant gas and condensate inflow was produced as a result of drilling at the Yuzhno-Lunskaya structure, demonstrating the discovery of a new field," Sputnik cited the company as saying.
