Explosive work began at the newly discovered gold mines in the Navoi region, the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine's press service spread this message.
The Balpantau and Tamdybulak deposits in the Tamdy district were solemnly opened on April 7 as part of the Muruntau mine. Sputnik Uzbekistan reports that the employees of the enterprise carried out the first blasting operations there.
Gold ore will be sent to the Hydrometallurgical Plant № 2.
Ore reserves at the deposits exceed 40 million tons. There are plans to mine more than 3 million tons of gold ore per year over a period of almost 15 years.
