New regional airline begins to operate in Kazakhstan

A presentation of the new Kazakh airline, Qazaq Air JSC, took place today at the international airport of Astana, the National Welfare Fund of Kazakhstan Samruk-Kazyna said.

The route network of the Qazaq Air airline will consist of 12 destinations, mostly non-stop flights between the regions of Kazakhstan. Currently, it is planned that the airline will serve the following routes at the first phase of its operation: Almaty-Kostanay, Almaty-Shymken, Almaty-Pavlodar, Almaty-Astana, Shymkent-Pavlodar, Shymkent-Kyzylorda, Shymkent-Aktobe , Aktobe-Kostanay, Aktobe-Atyrau, Almaty-Taldykorgan, Almaty-Balkhash, Astana-Balkhash.

The average distance of the flights will be about 800 kilometers. During the year, since the launch of the first flight, the average flight of the aircraft is planned to be increased to 7.3 hours per day. Passenger traffic is forecast at about 250,000 people.

Project Director of Qazaq Air, Blair Pollock, said that the airline prices will be sufficiently attractive.
