According to the mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, special devices have been installed in Tbilisi to monitor the noise level generated by transport.
The pilot project has been launched by the Tbilisi mayor's office and the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
At the first stage, the devices have been placed on Kazbegi Avenue. If the experiment is successful, such devices may appear on other streets of Tbilisi.
"The pilot project is currently being tested. After successful testing, it will be possible to identify vehicles that violate noise level standards and impose appropriate fines on their owners",
Kakha Kaladze said.
These are manufactured by Sorava Beam from the Netherlands. This type of device has previously been installed in a number of European cities.
