The 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku are a big holiday of sport, legendary Uzbek gymnast Oksana Chusovitina said today in an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza.
"We are participating in the Islamic Games for the first time, and I think that these competitions are a big holiday of sport, because we can see many different types of sports and get to know different athletes," she stressed.
Oksana Chusovitina noted that she likes to come to Baku for tournaments. "I really like Baku. When I come here, I'm greeted by such kind people, there's good atmosphere, just like in Uzbekistan," she said.
The 4th Islamic Solidarity Games are held in Baku from May 8 to 22. Athletes will compete at 16 sports facilities in 20 types of sports - 17 Olympic and three non-Olympic ones. Competitions in artistic and rhythmic gymnastics were included in the program of Islamic Solidarity Games for the first time at the initiative of the First Vice President of Azerbaijan, President of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, Mehriban Aliyeva.
