Ombudsman: traditions of love for Motherland prosper in Orel region

The High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia, Tatiana Moskalkova, speaking with a correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza during festive events dedicated to the 450th anniversary of Orel, said that patriotic traditions prosper in the Orel region.

"It is symbolic that the city was named after the proud and beautiful bird - an eagle (VK - Orel in Russian). And the double-headed eagle is the main element of the Russian coat of arms. It is no coincidence that Orel has become the southern outpost of Russia," she said.

"Today we see that these traditions of patriotism and love for the country have been preserved on this land. I heartily wish to every citizen of Orel that their rights will never be violated. I wish happiness and luck to the city, region and all of us," Tatiana Moskalkova concluded.
