One person was killed and another three were injured when a roller coaster at a funfair in Turkey's Kırşehir went off track.
Vahap Işık boarded his six-year-old son on the roller coaster known as the 'Apple Worm' at the funfair in the Kuşdilli neighborhood at around 9:00 p.m.
However, the roller coaster derailed with eight on board and ultimately overturned while descending from five meters. Işık, who was watching his son from the ground, was crushed under the overturned roller-coaster while three boys on board were injured, Doğan News Agency reported.
The cause of the derailment was not immediately clear. The injured were transferred to Ahi Evran University’s Education and Research Hospital.
The funfair was shut down after the incident and the police detained the business manager and the roller coaster operator as part of the investigation.
