Open skies regime launched in airports of 11 Kazakh cities

The open skies regime has been launched in the airports of 11 cities of Kazakhstan from November 1, 2019, the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development reported.

The cities are Nur-Sultan, Shymkent, Aktau, Karaganda, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Pavlodar, Kokshetau, Taraz, Petropavlosk and Semey.

The regime implies reduction of restrictions on number of flights and provision of a freedom of air to foreign airlines on the directions, where Kazakh carriers does not work.

"Introduction of the regime in Kazakhstan will promote attraction of new foreign air carriers, opening of new international routes, increasing competitiveness and will affect the decrease in ticket prices for the population," AKIpress cited the pres service as saying.
