The Georgian authorities are protecting the sovereignty of their country by introducing a bill on agents of foreign influence, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said.

He stated that the republican authorities were trying to do this in very difficult conditions. Orban stressed that Europe refused to understand this.

At the same time, the Hungarian Prime Minister noted that he appreciated the actions of the Georgian leadership in this direction.

Earlier, the Hungarian Foreign Minister, Peter Szijjártó, spoke about attacks on Georgia during the EU Foreign Affairs Council because of the law on foreign agents.

The minister added that Budapest was the only party that stood up for Tbilisi. He concluded that Hungary supported Georgia's European integration.
