26-year-old Chris Harper-Mercer, who opened fire at Oregon's Umpqua Community College, targeted Christians specifically, CNN reports.
According to witnesses of the tragic incident, while reloading his handgun Mercer ordered the students to stand up if they were Christians and shot only those who confessed. There is no official confirmation of this information yet, TASS reports.
Sheriff John Henlin said that 10 people were killed in the shooting and 7 were injured. Sam Mercer was also killed after a shootout with police at the scene.
