Members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has criticized Turkey for the situation with human rights. During his speech at the spring session of PACE in Strasbourg, the Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu was under a barrage of uncomfortable questions regarding the situation with Syrian refugees, oppression of the Kurds and plans for adoption of constitutional amendments by Turkey, TASS reports.
"Attacks on human rights, the systematic repressions of the Kurdish population: how do you plan to move on the path of Turkey's integration to Europe?", Swedish MP from the Socialists faction Royan Gustafson asked Davutoglu.
In response to the critical statements, Davutoglu assured that "the new Turkish constitution will fully meet the European principles of human rights protection."
