PACE praises results of parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan

The parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan were held in accordance with international standards, the Electoral Code of the country and in a calm atmosphere, the delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) said.

According to the head of the delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Jordi Chukla, "the elections were transparent." He noted that that the observers did not face any violation of the laws and no pressure has been observed, TASS reports.

The Yeni Azerbaijan (New Azerbaijan) Party has become leader in 71 constituencies out of 125. Some 503 international observers, including the CIS mission, the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states and a number of other organizations, monitored the parliamentary election in Azerbaijan.
