The coronavirus pandemic is hindering attracting new investments in the Georgian economy, the head of the country's Ministry of Economic Development, Natia Turnava said.
According to her, private companies are looking for land and buildings in order to build a commercial facility, but due to the fall in the economy, this becomes unprofitable for investors.
At the same time, Turnava noted that Georgia is still successfully implementing the project on the privatization of 100 state facilities.
"According to the data for the first half of the year, within the framework of the ‘100 State Property Objects’ program, property worth 75 mln lari was sold and we have already exceeded the last year’s indicators,” she said.
