Pashinyan accuses OSCE Minsk Group of supporting Azerbaijan

The OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs have taken a "pro-Azerbaijani stand" on Karabakh, Armenia's acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today during the election campaign in Spitak.

"After coming to power in 2018, we inherited the negotiation deadlock on the Karabakh settlement. The problem is that the OSCE Minsk Group mediators (Russia, France, the United States) expressed the same position on the Karabakh settlement as Azerbaijan. But it is important to record that this position was formed not in 2018, but much earlier," Pashinyan said, complaining that back in January 2016 the mediators put forward a condition for Armenia to abandon the idea of an intermediate status of Nagorno-Karabakh.

"There were the 'land for status' and 'land for peace' formulas and there have been the 'land for nothing' formula from 2016 to 2018. We inherited the negotiation process precisely on this formula. We were set ab objective of returning the territories," Pashinyan complained, blaming the former Armenian authorities, in particular, ex-presidents Robert Kocharian and Serzh Sargsyan.
