The already deplorable demographic situation in Armenia threatens to turn into a catastrophe due to the actions of its military-political leadership.
Deep demographic problems have existed in Armenia for a long time, the country’s population is constantly decreasing, the death rate exceeds the birth rate even in peacetime, no to mention epidemics; migration also plays its negative role.
Now the situation is worsening due to the spread of the coronavirus: the daily death rate from COVID-19 is growing steadily in the country. Over the past 24 hours, 50 patients died, and 1708 deaths have been recorded for the entire period of the pandemic.
The unwillingness of Yerevan to observe the ceasefire in the area of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict also makes things worse.
