Metropolitan Hilarion, chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Russian Orthodox Church, reported today that during today's historic meeting of the heads of the Orthodox and Catholic churches, the Patriarch of Moscow and All-Russia Kirill and Pope Francis didn’t discussed theological questions.
"No union of the two churches is planned. The meeting that took place was aimed at achieving a better understanding. It is important that Orthodox and Catholic believers could hear each other in the present situation in order to act not as competitors, but as allies," he said in an interview for Russia-24.
