Last night police dispersed a spontaneous demonstration against shelters for refugees in Dresden. Around 60 people gathered near a building where refugees will live in the future and protested until the police arrived.
Clashes with law enforcement officers ensued, during which protesters pelted police with stones and pyrotechnics. There are no reports about casualties or victims either side.
A similar demonstration took place in another German city, Cottbus, where 400 people opposed a shelter. However, they went home voluntarily after the arrival of police.
As TASS writes, pessimism regarding the country's abilities to house the refugees has increased among citizens of Germany in recent weeks – 51% of the population is already doubting them.
