Peskov: Ulyukayev's detention no signal of economic policy changes

The former Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev's detention on bribery charges cannot be associated with changes in economic policy because strategic affairs are President Vladimir Putin's area of expertise, the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"It is unlikely that Mr. Ulyukayev's detention could somehow be associated with changes in economic policy. Moreover, the issues of the country's strategic development in one way or another are in the competence of the head of state," Sputnik cited Peskov as saying.
