Peskov comments on Mironov's suggestion on death penalty

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on the suggestion of the leader of the A Fair Russia party, Sergei Mironov, on applying the capital punishment for terrorism, saying that the Kremlin proceeds on the assumption that a moratorium on the capital punishment is currently in effect in Russia.

"This is only a proposal," he said, adding that "the death penalty is an extremely complicated issue, and numerous discussions are under way."

"After all, there is a decision on the moratorium, we proceed from this moratorium," TASS cited the Kremlin spokesman as saying.
