A traffic police post was attacked by armed individuals in Russia’s North Caucasus Republic of Ingushetia at around 1am (MSK), a source in the local Interior Ministry said.
"A traffic police post was attacked in Malgobek last night, a police officer was wounded, two of the assailants were killed," TASS cited the source as saying.
The wounded police officer is in grave condition, a source in the local hospital said.
Law enforcement agencies have identified one of two gunmen who were killed in Malgobek.
"It was Magomed Bekbuzarov, an active member of an armed gang who is at large for committing crimes. The second person who was killed is being identified," local police said.
