The head of the US Department of State, Mike Pompeo, said that Washington’s intention to recognize the Golan Heights as an Israeli territory amid the situation with Crimea is not a policy of double standards.
According to him, the United States has previously imposed sanctions on Russia in connection with the situation around Crimea. And, responding to a question whether the US intention on the Golan Heights means the double standards policy, the head of the US Department of State noted that the actions of US President Donald Trump on the Golan Heights - are ”the recognition of the real situation on the ground and security situation required to protect the Israeli state ", RIA Novosti quotes Pompeo as saying.
