On Friday, June 14, Pope Francis will arrive at the G7 summit, which kicked off at the closed Italian resort of Borgo Egnazia near Bari the day before.

This will be the first G7 summit in history to be attended by the head of the Roman Catholic Church.

On the eve of the historic summit, the pontiff said that he planned to communicate there with each of the G7 countries' leaders.

"At the G7 we will talk about artificial intelligence, but also about peace. I will have bilateral meetings. There are requests from the seven heads of state. I will meet with everyone",

Pope Francis said.

In total, he intends to hold 10 meetings at the summit, including with the Prime Minister of India, the presidents of Türkiye and Brazil, as well as with the Managing Director of the IMF.
