The head of the Roman Catholic Church announced his visit to Türkiye. His first trip to this country took place 10 years ago.
Pope Francis intends to visit Türkiye. He told about this during a meeting in Rome with representatives of the Fener Greek Patriarchate in Rome.
The visit is due to take place in 2025. As part of the trip, the pontiff is going to participate in the celebration of the 1700th anniversary of the First Council of Nicaea. According to the head of the Roman Catholic Church, he wants to make this visit with all his heart.
Pope Francis already visited the republic earlier. His first trip to Türkiye took place in 2014.
