President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko wrote on his Facebook page this morning that he personally would go for tomos for Ukrainian schismatics to Istanbul, where the Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew lives.
“It is a great honor for me, along with the newly elected head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine, Epiphanius, to leave for Istanbul, where a long-awaited event will take place tomorrow,” he said.
Poroshenko promised to thank Bartholomew for the conditional legitimization of the split "from the entire Ukrainian people."
