Prosecutor General's Office unhappy with effectiveness of fight against counterfeiting in southern Russia

Russian Deputy Prosecutor General, Sergei Vorobyov, at yesterday's meeting of the heads of law enforcement bodies of regions of the SFD, expressed concern at the lack of efficiency in the fight against counterfeit money in this part of the country.

"The acuteness of this issue is also in the low number of solved crimes – manufacturers and traffickers of counterfeit money are not identified. In 2013 -2014 alone, detection of these crimes in the Southern Federal District amounted to 6%. Only 134 criminal cases were submitted to the courts. It turns out that the work of the law enforcement bodies is reduced to establishing instances of such crimes," Interfax quoted him as saying.
