The state prosecution has asked court to sentence a former student of the philosophy department of Moscow’s State University, Aleksandra Ivanova (Varvara Karaulova) to five years in a normal security penitentiary and a fine for an attempt to join ISIS, the Prosecutor said in debate.
The prosecutor said Karaulova’s guilt had been fully proven and her intention to go to Syria was by no means explained by some kind of romantic affection, TASS reports.
As follows from the bill of indictment, Karaulova made a decision to join ISIS with the aim of eventually carrying out an act of sabotage by committing a suicide bomb attack.
