The official announcement of the results of the parliamentary elections held in Kyrgyzstan on October 4 will take place after the completion of technical and organizational procedures provided by the electoral law, the Central Commission for Elections and Referendums of Kyrgyzstan said.
The CEC explained that the announcement of results was delayed "due to the fact that at the request of representatives of the Butun Kyrgyzstan Emgek party to produce a recount at some polling stations in the Osh region." The Commission added that this process has been completed, and "no discrepancies have been identified."
"We have the right to announce the election results within twenty days. However, we plan to do it next week," TASS cited the commission as saying.
