The Russian edition of Forbes magazine published its list of Russia's 100 most powerful people, which was quite expectedly led by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The second place was taken by the chairman of the board of Sberbank German Gref, he is followed by Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller and chief executive officer of Rosneft Igor Sechin. The head of the government Dmitry Medvedev was ranked fifth, Interfax reports.
The sixth place was taken by the general director of Surgutneftegaz Vladimir Bogdanov. The seventh place in the rating is held by the chairman of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina, followed by the FSB director Alexander Bortnikov, the general director of JSCo Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov. President of LUKoil Vagit Alekperov is also among the top-10.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin took the 13th place in the Forbes rating, First Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov ranks 16th, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov ranks 21st, and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu ranks 30th. Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin ranks the 83rd, the chairman of the Council of Federation Valentina Matvienko - 87th, while leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Vladimir Zhirinovsky ranks 100th.
The expanded list includes 200 richest businessmen, directors of about 300 of the largest real sector companies and backbone banks, heads of law enforcement agencies, senior officials, speakers of both houses of parliament, their deputies, heads of factions and committees, as well as representatives of regional authorities. In total it includes about 1500 people, who were assessed, divided into groups by the number of employees, enterprises' earnings, their ability to directly affect people's lives and industries, as well as proximity to the president or the party in power.
Vladimir Putin was second in the American Forbes’ global ranking of the world’s most influential people.
