The internal forces of the Russian Interior Ministry, one of the most numerous and highly respected departments of the police department, are celebrating the 205th anniversary of their establishment on Sunday March 27th. Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated employees and veterans of the internal forces. He noted that thanks to their work the country was able to do a lot to neutralize terrorist and extremist threats.
According to the President, today the Russian Interior Ministry's internal forces are well-trained and equipped units and divisions, which "perfectly coped with ensuring public safety during international summits in St. Petersburg and Vladivostok, the Winter Olympics in Sochi and the World Summer Universiade in Kazan."
Vladimir Putin also expressed special words of gratitude to the veterans, who "fought near Moscow and Leningrad, participated in the guerrilla movement and the attack on Berlin." "The current generation of soldiers and officers of the internal forces continues the priceless traditions of courage and patriotism with honor. Since the 90s of the 20th century you had to go through many hot spots, and you always showed high professionalism, resilience and courage," the head of state noted.
Vladimir Putin stated that he is sure that the internal forces will continue to reliably protect the security of Russian citizens, carry out the task of ensuring law and order professionally and accurately.
The commander of the internal forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Viktor Zolotov, also congratulated personnel and veterans on their professional holiday.

In turn, Interior Minister of the Russian Federation, general of police, Vladimir Kolokoltsev, evaluating the results of the work of the Russian Interior Ministry's internal forces, noted that "all the tasks set for them were completed." Thus, in the past year, more than 13 thousand people were awarded with departmental awards and 203 servicemen awarded with state awards, the press service of the Interior Ministry explained.
