Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel discussed the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh during a phone conversation.
Putin briefed Merkel on Russia's mediation efforts to end military operations, as well as the activities of Russian peacekeepers deployed along the line of contact and the Lachin corridor with the consent of Baku and Yerevan.
It has been emphasized that the consistent implementation of paragraphs defined on the statement of Presidents of Azerbaijan, Russia and the Prime Minister of Armenia on November 9 contributes to the stabilization of the situation in the region
The need to urgently address the problems of the population affected by the military operations was stressed. In this regard, the leaders stressed the importance of involving specialized international structures in the activities of the Humanitarian Center established by Russia.
The Russian President and the German Chancellor agreed to continue future cooperation within the OSCE Minsk Group.
During the phone conversation, the Ukrainian settlement was also discussed.
