Putin and Saudi Arabia’s crown prince discuss oil agreements

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud have held a telephone conversation to discuss the possibility Saudi Arabia might use Russian vaccines against the novel coronavirus, as well as the implementation of the OPEC+ agreements, the Kremlin’s press-service said.

"The parties discussed the expansion of Russian-Saudi ties in various fields, including in the context of the 95th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which will be marked this February. They expressed mutual interest in building up cooperation in trade, the economy and investment. Countering the spread of the coronavirus infection was another topic considered, including the possibility of using the Russian vaccines in Saudi Arabia," TASS cited the report as saying.

"Vladimir Putin and Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud also exchanged views on the implementation of the OPEC+ agreements. They underscored their willingness to continue close coordination between Russia and Saudi Arabia in the interests of maintaining stability in the global energy market," the report reads.

Regional issues were also touched upon, in particular, the situation in Syria and the Persian Gulf zone. The parties agreed on further contacts at various levels.
