Nord Stream gas pipelines can be repaired after the blast but this will require time, money and new technologies, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"This is not a simple matter. The global practice does not even have examples of repairing the like systems after such accidents," the head of state said.
"In theory, everything is possible in terms of technology," Putin noted. "This will require time, money, and certain new technologies. Nevertheless, everything is possible, everything can be done," the Russian leader said.
The explosion at pipelines "was very strong," Vladimir Putin added.
Putin said that the Nord Stream gas pipelines have prospects only if the European countries recall their national interests.
"Certainly, I think it is present. If there is an interest of our European countries, if this instinct of the national interest revives with them, then, certainly, [the future] is in place," Putin said.
"But you know, sometimes it seems to me that they do everything what they are told from overseas," the President noted.
