The main event of the year was the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, speaking at a New Year reception in the Kremlin.
"We are summing up the results of the past year and making plans for next year. There were a lot of events last year, but the most significant was the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory,’’ RIA Novosti cites President Putin as saying.
