Russian President Vladimir Putin believes that the US missile shield system will not protect the entire territory of the United States, Bloomberg quoted the Russian leader as saying in a TV interview with US film director Oliver Stone.
"As of today a missile shield would not protect the territory of the United States," he tells Stone after the director points out that it was US Independence Day. "Nobody would survive" a war between nuclear superpowers, he said.
However, Putin said that the hope for normalization of the Russia-US relations still exists.
"America has had the election. Donald Trump won. Is there any hope for change?" Stone asked Putin. "Hope? There is always hope. Until they are ready to bring us to the cemetery and bury us," Putin answered.
The four-part documentary, The Putin Interviews, will be aired on CBS Showtime between June 12 and 15.
