Russian President Vladimir Putin sent New Year greetings to his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev, according to the Kremlin website.
In his message to Ilham Aliyev, Putin noted that even during such a difficult year, both parties had a chance to see proof of the strong strategic partnership between Russia and Azerbaijan.
He also expressed hope that Moscow and Baku would continue to combine efforts to build up mutually beneficial ties in all areas as this meets the fundamental interests of the peoples of the two states and is in line with strengthening peace, security and stability in the South Caucasus.
