Russian President Vladimir Putin has traditionally visited the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Kremlin wall in the Alexander Garden on February 23, Defender of the Fatherland Day, to lay a wreath honoring the memory of those killed when defending the Motherland.
A wreath belted with the ribbon in the colours of the Russian national flag with the inscription “To the Unknown Soldier from the President of the Russian Federation” was installed by the soldiers of the Presidential Regiment.
Together with the President, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, veterans and students of Moscow military educational institutions came to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier today. Participants of the commemorative action laid red carnations at the memorial.
