The 4th International Political Science forum 'Russian Caucasus - 2016' opened in Pyatigorsk today. It will gather more than 350 participants, including the heads and ministers of the national policy of North Caucasus Federal District regions, scientists, clergy, representatives of public organizations and experts", the organizing committee of the forum said.
There will be three plenary sessions on topical issues of the cross-border cooperation between the Caspian Sea countries, as well as the priorities of socio-economic development and approaches to the implementation of the state national policy in the North Caucasus.
The participants will discuss the formation of the image of the North Caucasus federal and international media, more efficient implementation of the state national policy and the role of civil society institutions. They will also focus on the prevention of extremism on ethnic and religious grounds, TASS reports.
The 4th International Political Science forum 'Russian Caucasus' will take place on December 1-2. It was organised by the Federal Agency for the Affairs of Nationalities and the Ministry of the Russian Federation for the North Caucasus.
The 3rd forum was held in Makhachkala on December 9-14, 2015.
