Hearings with the participation Foreign Minister of Slovakia Miroslav Lajcak and Foreign Minister of Argentina Susana Malkorra – the candidates for the post of UN Secretary General have begun at the UN headquarters. Recall that the post will become vacant on January 1st, 2017.
Miroslav Lajčák is a Slovak diplomat and currently the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia. He is also serving as Deputy Prime Minister.
Susana Mabel Malcorra is the current foreign relations minister of Argentina. She was appointed by President Mauricio Macri on November 24th, 2015. Prior to that she was Chef de Cabinet to the Executive Office at the United Nations, appointed by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in March 2012.
