Relations between Russia and Egypt develop positively, Putin says

Presidents of Russia and Egypt, Vladimir Putin and Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, held a meeting on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Xiamen.

Russia and Egypt are actively cooperating on the settlement of regional conflicts, Putin said. "Egypt is making a significant contribution to resolving very acute regional crises," TASS quotes him as saying.

The Russian president pointed out that the bilateral relations are developing positively, the parties pursue a constant dialogue in almost all areas. "I am particularly pleased to note, that economic ties are being restored," he stressed. "In 2016, the growth was 1.6%, and it is already 14% for the H1 of this year," Putin said.
