Republican headquarters created to ensure parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan

The government of Kyrgyzstan has created the Republican headquarters to ensure the parliamentary elections scheduled for October 4. The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Temir Sariev, noted that this structure "will assist commissions in dealing with organizational matters and logistical support of the elections campaign."

These headquarters will be organized in the executive bodies of local self-government throughout the whole country.

According to the Central Commission for Elections and Referendums of Kyrgyzstan, currently only one party has notified of its intention to participate in parliamentary elections – Ata-Meken (Fatherland). The campaign will start on September 4th 2015.

The novelty of the upcoming elections will be automatic ballot boxes, which "excludes the possibility of cheating, inaccuracies in the counting of ballots and provide the direct transmission of data to the central server of the CEC," the CEC explained.

As Vestnik Kavkaza reported, the state budget will allocate about 220 million soms (about $3.6 million) for the preparation and holding of parliamentary elections.
