Due to an ongoing snowstorm in Kazakhstan, the Committee of Emergency Situations of the Ministry of the Interior was forced to close roads in four provinces of the country.
Traffic for all vehicles is banned in the Aktobe and Kostanay regions, in the East Kazakhstan region it is forbidden to drive on the Karaganda-Ayagoz Bugaz road and in the Kyzylorda region in the south of Kazakhstan the Samara-Shymkent Highway is closed as well.
After New Year's night Kazakh rescuers pulled 145 people and 14 units of equipment from the snow, according to RIA Novosti.
