In Kabardino-Balkaria a rockfall has blocked the highway in the Tyzylskiy Gorge. According to the head of the Russian Geographical Society in Kabardino-Balkaria, Victor Kotljarov, boulders had just been suspended over the highway and then collapsed, blocking access to the gorge and closing the route for tourists coming to look at the underground lake.
"The lake is located inside the mountain. The very entrance is hidden by moss, down which a plethora of water jets and streams flow. A man using all his irrepressible imagination could not have created such an unusual sight – a sense that the water is seeping from the mouth of the mountain that, if you look from the different angles, it reopens in a smile, then shrinks, expressing its dissatisfaction."
