Romodanovsky: we should learn from Europe's experience of migration crisis

Europe cannot cope with the migration crisis, so it is necessary to calculate its consequences for Russia, the head of the Federal Migration Service, Konstantin Romodanovsky, said.

According to the head of the Federal Migration Service, Russia needs to "learn from the European policy's mistakes."

He noted that "one of the most important results of European integration – the freedom of movement in the Schengen zone – has been put into question today."

Also, Romodanovsky believes that "today it is obvious to everyone that this crisis was generated by politics in North Africa and the Middle East."

"The system of generous social benefits to refugees without their integration into the labor market, the practice of family reunification without any thoughts that these people will will also require the realization of their rights," Romodanovsky listed.

In his opinion, "we cannot think that our migration situation is normal and European problems will not affect us." Russia could face an increase in the flow of refugees from the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia, the head of the Federal Migration Service said, explaining that they are likely to use Russia as a country of destination for transit to European countries.
