The head of the Federal Tourism Agency (Rostursim), Oleg Safonov, during the XI International Tourism Exhibition 'Intourmarket', stated today that the North Caucasus has the potential for development of not only the ski and wellbeing clusters, but also beach vacations.
"I mean, of course, Dagestan, because it is obvious that Russia has few tourist territories that provide beach vacation services. And, as we see it, there is a very serious reserve, and we see the prospects for beach recreation in Caspian region. There is the sea, it is not deep, it is well warmed, wide sandy beaches, but, unfortunately, there is a complete lack of tourism infrastructure," TASS quoted him as saying.
