According to the head of the Federal Tourism Agency, Oleg Safonov, China has topped the rating for inbound tourism in Russia. More than 1 million tourists arrived in Russia from China in the past year.

The official pointed out that the abolition of visas for the countries of the BRICS can play an important role in the realization of this potential. This proposal has been made by Vladimir Putin recently.
"We believe that we should think about simplifying the procedures of receiving visas. There is an option: group travel visa-free trios," Safonov said.
