Rushan Abbyasov: Moscow's Muslims have spent the month of Ramadan in an appropriate manner

Today, the month of Ramadan come to an end after the sunset. Tomorrow Russian Muslims will celebrate one of the main religious festivals – Eid al-Adha.

The chairman of the Russian Muftis Council and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia, Rushan Abbyasov, told 'Vestnik Kavkaza' how Muslims spent this blessed month in Moscow and the Moscow region.

In my opinion, "Moscow Muslims spent the blessed month of Ramadan in an appropriate manne They were very activate, and this is proved by visiting of the Ramadan tent. Every day more than a thousand people ate iftar. Certainly, it was accompanied by a very beautiful cultural education program. Of course, we were impressed by performances, cultural programs of such republics as Dagestan and Ingushetia. On the day of Ingushetia was attended by the head of the republic, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov. The Republic of Dagestan, our Nogai Muslims and many others presented its cultural program. This fact emphasizes today's high interest in ummah. Everyone wants to tell about their people, traditions and customs," the chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia said.

"I believe that this project that is being implemented now in many regions of our country is very successful. Iftar was organized in many republics. More than 10,000 people gathered in Tatarstan at 'Kazan Arena'. Everybody closely watched and rejoiced for Muslims in Grozny where gathered more than 30,000 thousand believers. I hope that such programs will be developed in our regions. It means that Muslims have become more active and they participate in our socio-cultural and educational programs,'' Rushan Abbyasov noted.

"Our Muslims actively cooperate with their counterparts from Azerbaijan. We participate in joint conferences, organize and invite each other. I want to say that today we have mutual understanding in this regard. We cooperating with the Office of Caucasus Muslims, with the distinguished sheikh-ul Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade, organize various educational activities, conferences and forums. Today Azerbaijanis in Russia are an active part of our society," Rushan Abbyasov said.

The culmination of the festival will take place in Moscow Cathedral Mosque where the chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin will address spiritual leaders of Russian Muslims. Three additional sites were prepared in Butovo, in the park Kolomenskoye and the exhibition center at Sokolniki.
