A friendly match between the Russian football team and Turkey on Wednesday in order to mark an improvement in diplomatic relations between the two nations after a period of strained ties ended in a scoreless draw.
The Russian team played for the first time under the new coach Stanislav Cherchesov, who reshuffled about three-quarters of the team for the game, Sputnik reports.
Russia have won their 2 previous games against Turkey. The two teams last played against each other in 1998, a game which ended 1-0 in favour of the Russians. Also they won in their first ever encounter in 1994 by the same margin.
