Russia and Azerbaijan signed a new agreement on oil transportation via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline. From the Azerbaijani side it was signed by representatives of the Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR, and from the Russian side by representatives of Transneft, Transneft president’s advisor Igor Demin said.
Under the agreement, SOCAR will resume oil transportation via this pipeline on March 1.
“Initially, it was planned to transport around 1.3 million tons of oil. However, as the agreement will be effective only from March, transportation volumes will be less. The volumes will be defined for every month,” Trend cited Demin as saying.
"The agreement is similar to the ones signed in previous years," he added.
