Russia and China united against "colour revolutions"

Moscow and Beijing intend to counter interference by outside forces in the internal affairs of sovereign countries and oppose colour revolutions, the two states said in a joint statement on international relations entering a new era and the global sustainable development.

"Russia and China stand against attempts by external forces to undermine security and stability in their common adjacent regions, intend to counter interference by outside forces in the internal affairs of sovereign countries under any pretext, oppose colour revolutions, and will increase cooperation in the aforementioned areas," the document reads.

"The sides are gravely concerned about serious international security challenges and believe that the fates of all nations are interconnected. No state can or should ensure its own security separately from the security of the rest of the world and at the expense of the security of other states," the sides stressed.

The two countries appeal to all nations, calling for the strengthening "of dialogue and mutual trust, a deepening of mutual understanding, the upholding of universal values such as peace, development, equality, justice, democracy and freedom, respect for the rights of peoples to independently choose the path of development of their countries, and the sovereignty and interests of states in the field of security and development."
